 1  Alexandra's Voice Studio

Learn to sing with Alexandra. Soprano, Alexandra Phillips, teaches all ages, and levels, and group classes. Learn to sing in a nurturing environement. She wants to help you find your voice!

Alexandra has taught private lessons from her studio in Fairfax County in Northern VA, and in Georgetown, Washington, DC. She has taught all ages. She enjoys teaching masterclasses for high school and college level students on performance technique, including breath and vocal production.

Her own teaching is based on the traditional bel canto style of classical singing and includes efficient breath management and proper postural alignment, as well as coordination of the mind, body and spirit. She is proficient in Italian, French, and German for singing. She received her master’s degree from the University of Tennessee in vocal performance and is a graduate of the Eastman school of Music. She served as choral director of Bishop O'Connell High School and has had private studios in London, England; Rochester, NY; and Knoxville, TN, and Bologna, Italy. She has also taught a workshop in Florence, Italy

VSA Arts is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1974 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith to create a society where people with disabilities learn through, participate in, and enjoy the arts. VSA Arts provides educators, parents, and artists with resources and the tools to support art programming in schools and communities. VSA Arts showcases the accomplishments of artists with disabilities and promotes increased access to arts for people with disabilities. Each year millions of people participate in VSA arts programs through a nationwide network of affiliates and in more than 60 countries around the word. VSA Arts is an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
