Auditions for an August production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado are Saturday, 4-10-10, 3-5 PM and Monday, 4-12-10, 7-9 PM.

Those unable to make the audition dates can schedule an appointment by calling 202-547-4102 or emailing jpstrach@aol.com. Performances will be August 5-7 & 12-14, 2010 at CHAW. All are welcome to audition and to be part of the production.

Performance Event for Book-in-a-Day 10520
Book-in-a-Day will celebrate three years of inspiring students to do the \"write thing\". This benefit performance will help us raise funds to bring the program to more middle and high schools. Featuring performances by over 20 poets, musicians, writers, and students, including VINX, Maritri, Tonya “JaHipster Matthews,” Marita Golden, DuEwa Frazier, Kuku, and Ruby Veridiano.

Cherry Blossom Festival

The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade 10555
We invite you to attend one of Washington's most exciting traditions -- the 2010 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday, April 10 from 10am – noon, rain or shine. The Parade runs along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets, NW. Giant colorful balloons, marching bands, and performers will burst down Constitution Avenue in an energy-filled spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year.

50th Annual Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival 10556
The Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival is the largest one-day exhibition of Japanese culture in the United States. Japanese food and beer, sake, music and dance, arts and crafts, anime and manga, taiko drums, samurai swordsmen, ikebana and bonsai, karate, judo, sumo, aikido, sudoku. No matter what, if it’s Japanese, it’s at the Sakura Matsuri. Now in its 50th year, Sakura Matsuri stretches for six square blocks through downtown DC.
