Cherry Blossom Festival : Southwest Airlines Presents the National Cherry Blossom Parade 8460
The parade is a spectacular event for children of all ages; Celebrity appearances, dance and drumming performance teams from Japan and the United States highlight the art of taiko drumming. Cherry blossom queens from the US and Japan add royalty to the procession. Giant balloons, floats, horses, antiquecars, clowns and mascots all add to the merriment on parade morning.

Blessing of the Fleets 8477
The Blessing of the Fleets is a tradition that has been passed down. At the United States Navy Memorial’s annual Blessing of the Fleets, Sailors from the Navy’s Ceremonial Guard proceed across the Memorial’s “Granite Sea” to pour water from the Seven Seas -- and the Great Lakes -- into the surrounding foundations. This annual “charging” of the fountains brings them to life, celebrating the new spring season.

2nd Annual Art & Go Seek Scavenger Hunt 8426
Art & Go Seek is an interactive scavenger hunt that sends teams of 2-6 people racing around Capitol Hill searching for answers to questions about art, history, and notorious people and places in the neighborhood. Entry fees for adults are $25 before March 28th and $30 after. Ages 13-18 are $10. Children under 12 are free. Each team pledges to raise at least $100.

Framing the Future Arts Gala 8514

The Jog for Justice is a 5K run/walk around campus to support the SARPP Advocate Office. The SARPP Advocate Office offers support and resources for students, staff, and faculty of the University of Maryland dealing with sexual assault, stalking, relationship violence, and sexual harassment. Proceeds go to the Victim Assistance Fund to help pay for victims' medical needs and mental health appointments. Winners receive prizes and all participants receive a t-shirt and refreshments!
