Vice President Al Gore gave the kick-off speech for Earth Day 2000. He called for adherence to the Kyoto Accord and announced the Clinton Administration's support for reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. Gore will carry his message for safe, clean energy alternatives through his presidential campaign.
