Adventure School Rock Climbing (ASRC) - is the Capitol area's leader for outdoor climbing instruction and adventure. Our professional guides teach the complete beginner thru the most advanced climbers to perfect the skills necessary in becoming a safe and Self-Reliant climber.

Carderock Big Wall is a rock climbing guidebook. The guide discusses, in detail, the rocks that make up the Carderock area. This area runs tight along the Potomac River from the Key Bridge of Washington, DC up to the eastern boundary of Great Falls National Park. The main climbing area is on the Maryland side of the Potomac River, within the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Park.

Earth Treks Climbing Center is the DC regions only full service guide service and climbing gym (the East Coast's largest). Each year Earth Treks teaches over 10,000 people to climb and guides a dozen mountaineering expeditions to the Andes, Himalayas and Mt. Everest. The region's only AMGA Accredited Climbing School.

Over the years many of you have been using this guide to escape the maddening crowds at Great Falls and Carderock, or just to find new places to climb when you couldn't get out on road trips. More than a few of you have learned of small outcroppings just down the road from you, maybe 5-10 minutes away from your house. Others have given me feedback on historical routes when I had incorrect information. And a few of you were less than happy that I had revealed your 'hidden' climbing spot that no one knew about before I posted it here.

Potomac Mountain Club, the Mountaineering Section of the potomac Appalachian Club, is a group of climbers with diverse interest. Trad and Sport Crag climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering expeditions, leading and toproping, and gym climbing; we have members interested in one or more of these.

The Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area is part of the Monongahela National Forest and encompasses 100,000 acres which includes the highest peak in West Virginia.
All of our guides are experienced climbers who strive to provide not only top rate instruction but a fun and enjoyable experience as well. We believe that a strong foundation is the key to a long and productive climbing career. Through a process of continuity and individualization of curriculum, we ensure that all course work meets the needs and desires of each individual student.
