On the morning of the parade I had to report tothe National Mall at 5:30 AM! First we received many instructions on how to handle the massive balloon -- it was huge -- and then we were assigned to our separate balloons. The GW Team got Casper the Friendly Ghost. As we walked him down the parade route, we began to shout the Casper theme song, "Casper the Friendly Ghost, the friendliest ghost you know." This elicited smiles from children of all ages, which made the whole long day worthwhile for all us volunteers from GW. |
