A Christmas Carol

Written by Charles Dickens this classic Christmas story follows Ebenezer Scrooge as he transforms from a bitter and stingy old grouch into a giving, remorseful man. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Each ghost shows him the error of his ways and how he has been treating people horribly. Scrooge vows to transform himself into a caring, giving man. A Christmas Carol is playing at the following theatre's his holiday season.

The Nutcracker

The Washington Ballet performs this two-act holiday classic this year at the Warner Theatre. The ballet traditionally plays every Christmas season and tells the story of a little German girl named Clara and her fantasy of a wooden Nutcracker that comes to life. Clara and her prince then engage in a fierce battle with an evil mouse.

Seasons of Light at the Discovery Theatre

This interactive show is put on by the Smithsonian Institute and is the perfect holiday experience for families with young children. Using actors, dancers, musicians, puppet shows, and storytellers', children explore and learn about holiday traditions such as Ramadan, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, and more.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

This classic Christmas Tale is given a twist by by three-time Tony nominee and Olivier Award winning playwright Ken Ludwig. "Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse." This year the mouse that Santa missed the year before is off on a wild adventure with an elf and little girl to ensure he gets his presents.
