Looking for a weekend full of relaxation, beautiful, rolling hills, fresh streams, and lots of wildlife? Then Warm Springs, Virginia is the place for you.
The Meadowlane Lodge (www.meadowlanelodge.com) has everything those seeking to get away from it all could ever want: beautiful hikes, gorgeous scenery, canoeing, and fishing in streams thick with trout. The main barn hosts many friendly animals, waiting to be greeted by the guests. While in Warm Springs, treat yourself to some pampering. We spent the day with Linda Wesley and her sister, Cindy, at the Warm Spirit Spa, located in The Inn at Gristmill Square, minutes from the lodge. Linda, a former employee at the Homestead Spa in Hot Springs, left a couple of years ago to start her own business, the Warm Spirit Spa. You can get the best massages at the Warm Spirit Spa for about half the price of treatments the Homestead has to offer. Linda and her sister offer a wide variety of treatments: different types of massage, reflexology, facials, and even yoga classes. Warm Spirit Spa creates an atmosphere that allows you to melt away the stress and tension. We were treated to an hour-long hot stone massage as well as an hour long facial. I highly recommend a visit to Warm Springs. The Meadowlane Lodge is open year-round, with the peak seasons being the spring and fall. Reservations are required. Warm Springs can be reached via the Internet at www.meadowlanelodge.com), by phone at 540-838-5959 or fax 540-839-2135. Linda can be reached by phone at 540-839-6600. |
