ASiS which stands for African-American Sisters In Spirit Book Club, is a book club for African American women residing in the Washinton DC and Northern Virginia area. Our club meet monthly to discuss the writings of African American authors over dinner. ASiS is a strong network of sistas that will form bonds that are as close as sisters to promote literacy, and community service. We're always accepted membership applications!!!

BSF-assisted students stay in school, graduate high school with distinction and enter college. 70% of these students are from one-parent households — Many are the first generation to progress to higher education.

Black Women in Sisterhood for Action (BISA), founded on January 10, 1980, is a national non-profit corporation whose purposes are to develop and promote alternative strategies for educational and career development of black women in the world of work; provide scholarship assistance to deserving youths; provides support and social assistance to senior black women in the community; share information and resources in meaningful ways with the community-at-large; and to provide leadership, role models, and mentors for young people.
