National Institutes of Health Library

The NIH Library is an open stacks biomedical research library whose collection and services are developed to support NIH programs. The Library is open to the public on a self service basis. Information services, including reference and Medline searches, are available through the Montgomery County Library system. Consumer information is available at the Wheaton Regional Library’s Health Information Center (301) 929-5520. Poolesville Library

The Poolesville Library serves a large area of smallrural towns: Poolesville, Dickerson, Barnesville,Beallsville, Boyds, and Darnestown. Farmers, long timeresidents, and newcomers living in nearby subdivisionsmake up the library clientele. The Poolesville Libraryhas materials to meet the variety of their needs frombooks on raising hogs to taped books for long commutes. Although this is the smallest branch of the Montgomery County Department of Public Libraries, ithas access to all the materials of the system. Materials can be sent and information can be faxed to the library. The online catalog can access the holdings of the system plus indices to periodicals, holdings of other libraries in the state, and community information.
