Redskins Beat Dallas to Make Playoffs

In wet, muddy and cold field conditions the Washington Redskins manhandled the Dallas Cowboys in a 27-6 BLOWOUT. With the win, the Redskins secured a Wild Card playoff berth for the second time in three years. Redskins knew when they scored their first touchdown that Seatle, was our opponent was next week. By the end of the first half Washington and Dallas had only to play for respect and winning momentum. Cowboy Quarterback Tony Romo played 3 quarters and completed only 7 of 16 passes for 86 yards and an interception. Dallas backup Quarterback, Brad Johnson, finished the 4th quarter like an old deer staring at the Fedex field lights remembering his past Redskin glory days. With T.O. out with a (Romo Jessica Heartbreak) injury, no Cowboy receiver had the ability to consistently get open. The Redskin defense held a tired Dallas rushing ...

Washington Redskins vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Redskins got an early gift from Santa this year to thwart the Cardinals miraculous comeback attempt. A slight North wind pushed Kicker Neil Rackers 55-yard field goal attempt slight left. Warner struggled in the first half, throwing a pair of interceptions. The Redskins converted those turnovers into 14 points. Safety Sean Taylor's interception at the Arizona 25 set up Clinton Portis' 2-yard run with 4:12 left in the first quarter. With seven minutes left in the first half, London Fletcher picked off Warner and returned the interception 27 yards to give the Redskins a 14-0 lead. Jason Campbell had a lacklustre game for Washington, completing just 12-of-18 passes for 95 yards, while Portis was held to 43 yards on 13 carries. Battle of the Beltway

DC's Washington Nationals beat local rival Baltimore Orioles two games to one. It was the first "Battle of the Beltway" series since the Senators played the Orioles in 1971. Talk about big-time matchups. "Right now, this series, it's for bragging rights," Nationals Manager Frank Robinson said. The last time a Washington-based team won a season series against Baltimore was back in 1965, when the Senators took 10 out of 18 games. The Nats gained some respect and Alfonso Soriano became the fans favorite. "Everybody on the team likes him. He is a very versatile player. He gets on base, he steals bases, he can do whatever you want. I think he's very important for the future of our franchise," Ryan Zimmerman said. "He really cares about playing the game everyday."

Washington Nationals Baseball

Baseball is back in D.C., baby! And starved fans of Washington can’t wait until the first pitch. It's hard to walk down a street and not see someone wearing a red hat with a cursive "W." The Nationals are arguably among the Washington's most-discussed topics. The District of Columbia is the headquarters of our very own Republic. Like baseball, it is not a perfect institution, but it always has the potential to be head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.
