If I had to guess, it looks like Washington's Monument was modeled after the Egyptian Obelisk of Pharaoh Senusret I. It was (and is) the world's tallest stone structure and world's tallest obelisk

Joseph's wife
Amazing that Joseph's wife, Asenath the Priest of Heliopolis (On), would have stood with Joseph and looked at this same obelisk at her temple. It was already a few hundred years old at the time!
