Lincoln Memorial - Robert E Lee

Some have claimed that Robert E. Lee's face is carved onto the back of Lincoln's statue, looking back across the Potomac at Arlington House (Custis-Lee Mansion) in Arlington National Cemetery.

I have been there many times and have seen it for myself. It is not an entire "full" face, it is a profile. You have to get about as far back possible on Lincoln's right side. You may have to move around a bit, but you will be able to see the profile...

I have been there many times and have seen it for myself. It is not an entire "full" face, it is a profile. You have to get about as far back possible on Lincoln's right side. You may have to move around a bit, but you will be able to see the profile of Lee's beard, nose, and hair. Once you see the beard the rest will "pop" into view.
