Inventor. Called “the father of television” for invention of an early electronic television system, which he first visualized in high school. Early televisions used 100 of his patents. Received over 160 patents for inventions used in the development of radar, infrared night lights, electron microscope, baby incubator, gastroscope, and astronomical telescope.
