Some of you are right - some are wrong

San Jacinto is taller than the Washington Monument, true, but it's reinforced concrete, not stone, and the Washington Monument is not a "war memorial," it's a presidential memorial.
Anaconda Smoke Stack is taller but it's made of brick, it's a *smokestack*, not a presidential memorial, and no, at 70 feet in diameter it could definitely *not* "fit the Washington Monument inside it," that's a myth perpetuated by the Wikipedia entry and, besides, we're talking world's tallest masonry Obelisk here, so feel free to bite me.

The San Jacinto Monument sits atop a base making the total structure taller than the Washington Monument but the monument itself is a little shorter. Also, depending on the source, the Juche Tower in Pyongyang, North Korea is sometimes listed as taller than both.

Yeah, the Anaconda Smelter Stack in Montana is WAY bigger, the washington monument could fit inside easily..
