The Hope diamond is the world's largest deep blue diamond. AT 45.52 carats, it is classified as a type IIb diamond. The diamond's blue coloration is attributed to trace amounts of boron in the stone.

"Guest's" take on Greed

I'm inclined to agree with you on your take on greed, guest.

Hm... I think that the biggest actual DIAMOND diamond is actually a south african diamond. There was one in 1905, which was turned into the 'star of africa' and one that's still being verified as a true diamond but is bigger than your hand. Honestly... wow. What would you even do with a diamond that big? Once again bringing us back to the hope diamond. 'guest', you are right, I think greed is what makes it so bad to own. It's just too desirable, you get obsessed with beauty and want to have it for your own, so you go to the limit and personally kill, say, 10 people in order to get it. Thus, we conclude the flaws of the Hope Diamond. Class dismissed.

Not cursed

Not cursed. Myth. This replica is not made with a real blue diamond or it would be cost prohibitive.
It's really nice though!

Not "Cursed"

It's an urban legend passed off as fact by The Washington Post and the NY Times around 1910 - makes a good story, but it's merely a hoax.

Hall Sapphire Diamond Necklace - This exquisite necklace features 36 matched sapphires from Sri Lanka totaling 195 carats. Their deep sky-blue color contrasts brilliantly with a sparkling sea of 435 diamonds weighing 84 carats.

Unfortunately not for sale

Museum artifacts are never for sale, but if it were, I'd take a shot in the dark and say 20 million dollars maybe ... to be honest, I have no idea...

I think the reason the Hope Diamond is bad luck is because of Greed. People should hold back from it. Kind of like once you have this, it will be all you need. No need for hope when you own/have the hope diamond
