Fleur de lis

The flower of life holds a secret symbol that is not readily seen.

The flower of the fleur-de-lis! Iris have been a long standing symbol of faith and hope, and their beauty has been honored by the French for centuries.

Graphically, the Fleur de lis is composed of an upright stroke, flared at the top, which penetrates a figure composed of two linked curves. The conjunction of these two basic, graphical elements produces a single, threefold figure, emblematic of a trinity-in-unity.

The oldest known examples of fleur-de-lis similar to those used in the Medieval Western world and in modern times can be found on assyrian bas-reliefs from the 3d millenium BC.

Hargrave Jennings, in The Rosicrucians, their Rites and Mysteries, provides an interesting (and complex) symbolic analysis of the fleur de lis.

To be wise is to be enlightened. Lux is the Logos by whom all things were made; and the Logos is Rasit--R.s.t.: ′ρ.′σ.′τ = 600; and Lux makes Lucis; then LX, ξ′ς = 666. Again, L = 50, ‏ו‎ v = 6, ‏ש‎ s = 300, ‏י‎ i = 10, ‏ש‎ s = 300 = 666.

The Fleur-de-lis is the Lotus (water-rose), the flower sacred to the Lux, or the Sul, or the Sun. The 'Auriflamme' (the flame of fire, or fire of gold) was the earliest standard of France.
