Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann

Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann created an alternative medicine practice called homeopathy. Homeopathy is a vitalist philosophy in that it interprets diseases and sickness as caused by disturbances in a hypothetical vital force or life force.

Dr. Hahnemann conceived the "law of similars", otherwise known as "like cures like" (Latin: similia similibus curentur) as a fundamental healing principle. He believed that by inducing a disease through use of drugs, the artificial symptoms empowered the vital force to neutralize and expel the original disease and that this artificial disturbance would naturally subside when the dosing ceased.

In the Deist philosophy which Dr. Hahnemann professed, human destiny is to be reunited with Divine Life through the seeds of the celestial harmonies deposited in human nature.

Bro. Hahnemann was admitted to the St. Andreas zu den dre Seeblattern Masonic lodge on October 16, 1777.

'Organon of the art of healing,' Dr. Hahnemann writes:

The effect upon the state of mind and disposition is the principal feature of all diseases, and seems to have been specially ordained by the Creator of all healing powers. There is not a single potent medicinal substance that does not possess the power of altering perceptibly the mental condition and mood of a healthy person who voluntarily tests a drug; indeed, each medicinal substance affects the mind in a different manner.
