B&O Railroad Museum - 1884 Baldwin Roundhouse

The Museum is home to the oldest, most comprehensive collection of railroad artifacts in the Western Hemisphere with one of it's jewels shown: a Baldwin Roundhouse dating to 1884. Roundhouses were used to turn around locomotive that could only travel forward, and to provide a sheltered environment for the maintenance and repair of locomotives.
