James A. Garfield Monument

The James Garfield Monument stands on the U.S. Capitol grounds in the circle at First Street, SW, and Maryland Avenue in DC. It is a memorial to President James A. Garfield, elected in 1880 and assassinated in 1881 after serving a mere four months in office.
